It is developed with advanced technology and is used in homes, businesses and corporate environments.

The main differentials laminate flooring consumers appreciate include quality, practicality, durability, ease and speed of installation, as well as comfort, beauty and antibacterial protection.

Launched in Sweden in 1980, laminate flooring first arrived in Brazil as an import in 1994. After its immediate acceptance in the Brazilian market, domestic manufacturing of this product began in 1999.

Laminate flooring is produced from trees grown for industrial purposes. These trees are cultivated in line with global environmental protection standards like ISO 14000 certification.

The planted trees are also certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and PEL Brazilian National Program for Forest Certification (CERFLOR), which is endorsed by the International Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Systems (PEFC).

This means that the trees are grown according to sustainable forest management principles, which reduces environmental impacts and promotes economic and social development in the communities that surround the plantations and factories.

Waste from the production process is used to transform wood into energy for the manufacturers to use.

Composition of laminate flooring

Laminate flooring comes in boards made of wood fibers or particles. These boards replicate wood patterns on the surface and are highly resistant to abrasion, which ensures durability.

It is produced in a variety of finishes and sizes, offering consumers options for decorating any room.

Laminate flooring is made up of the following layers:

Wear layer (surface)

  • Overlay – A clear cellulose film impregnated with melamine resin containing aluminum oxide particles, which makes it highly resistant to scratching and abrasion. Its low porosity stops it from absorbing liquids and makes it easier to clean while also providing durability.
  • Decorative layer – Decorative cellulose veneer impregnated with melamine resin that adds beauty to the floor, offering a wide variety of patterns and combinations.

Core board

  • HDF/HPP – High-density wood fiber or particle board produced from planted pine and eucalyptus trees in accordance with global environmental standards, and machined on the sides and top to create tongue-and-groove joints. The core provides strength, stability, and precision fitting between the boards, as well as resistance to impact and the concentrated load of heavy furniture.

Backing layer

  • This bottom later is made of cellulose sheets impregnated with melamine resin, which gives the floor stability.
