In line with its mission to promote sustainable development and highlight the power of the Brazilian planted tree sector, Ibá develops initiatives that drive innovation and communicate essential contributions to the sector and society.
With a focus on innovation, Ibá is responsible for the national-level stage of the Blue Sky Award granted by the International Council for Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA). This award recognizes young researchers who present innovative solutions for the future of global forest-based industry, and reinforces Brazil’s leadership in the development of sustainable technologies.
Additionally, to encourage public awareness and share information about the positive impact of the forest-based economy, Ibá launched the Ibá Journalism Award in 2024. This initiative reinforces the importance of journalistic coverage of sustainability and the fight against climate change, areas in which the sector plays a leading global role.
The Ibá Journalism Award was created to encourage quality journalistic coverage of the sector that plants trees for industrial and restoration purposes. The objective is to reinforce the social, environmental and economic benefits generated by this agricultural industry and recognize excellent work in the media.
Ibá also is responsible for the national-level stage of the Blue Sky Young Researcher and Innovation Awards granted by the International Council for Forest and Paper Associations (ICFPA). The competition selects researchers under 30 years of age who can contribute to the development of forest-based industry in terms of innovation and process improvement throughout the production chain.
