The Ibá Journalism Award was created with the mission of valuing and encouraging the production of high-quality journalistic reports about the cultivated tree sector, both for industrial purposes and for the restoration of native forests.

The award seeks to broaden society’s understanding of the relevance of this agroindustry, which makes a significant contribution to the country’s sustainable development. By bringing visibility to topics ranging from technological innovation and job creation to biodiversity conservation and climate change mitigation, the award highlights the importance of ethical, responsible journalism committed to the truth.

Coverage Guide

In order to introduce journalists to the planted tree sector and help them draft their stories, Ibá has made a Coverage Guide available to prize candidates. This manual contains key data on the planted tree industry, definitions of technical terms, explanations of common misconceptions and references to sources that serve as sources for constructing reporting.
